Apricot

Apricot

Apricot is a fruit, or the tree that bears the fruit, of several species in the genus Prunus.  In a 100-gram amount, raw apricots supply 48 Calories and are composed of 11% carbohydrates, 1% protein, less than 1% fat, and 86% water (table). Raw apricots are a moderate source of vitamin A and vitamin C (12% of the Daily Value each). Thanks to its abundant vitamin C content, it increases the elasticity and firmness of the skin, removes acne and blackheads, softens and moisturizes the skin, and restores the natural radiance of sun-exposed skin. Apricot kernel oil, which contains vitamins A and E, is anti-inflammatory and useful in treating itchy skin conditions such as dermatitis and eczema. It has a soothing and nourishing effect on extremely sensitive and allergic skin. Apricot kernel oil delays the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles and rejuvenates the skin.

Argan oil is a plant oil produced from the kernels of the argan tree (Argania spinosa L.), which is indigenous to Morocco and southwestern Algeria. Since the early 2000s argan oil has been increasingly used in cosmetics and hair care preparations. As of 2020, the main cosmetics products containing argan oil are face creams, lip glosses, shampoos, moisturizers, and soaps.

Anise (Pimpinella anisum), also called aniseed or rarely anix is a flowering plant in the family Apiaceae native to the eastern Mediterranean region and Southwest Asia. Anise is sweet and aromatic, distinguished by its characteristic flavor. The seeds, whole or ground, are used for preparation of teas and tisanes (alone or in combination with other aromatic herbs), as well many regional and ethnic confectioneries. The main use of anise in traditional European herbal medicine was for its carminative effect (reducing flatulence), as noted by John Gerard in his Great Herball, an early encyclopedia of herbal medicine. The seed wasteth and consumeth winde, and is good against belchings and upbraidings of the stomach, alaieth gripings of the belly, provoketh urine gently, maketh abundance of milke, and stirreth up bodily lust: it staieth the laske (diarrhea), and also the white flux (leukorrhea) in women.
