A few drops can be added to boiling water and inhaled as steam for relief. This method is beneficial for preventing and treating colds and flu. It is also one of the most effective natural remedies for eliminating lice and their eggs and preventing re-infestation. For this, equal amounts of cumin oil and almond oil are mixed and applied to the hair and scalp. After waiting for 5–10 minutes, the hair is washed with a herbal shampoo. This procedure should be repeated daily until lice are completely eliminated. To stop hiccups, a few drops of cumin oil are placed on a piece of cotton, held near the nose while the mouth is open, and the aroma is inhaled. The scent helps relax the spasms of the muscles causing the hiccups. For digestive problems and stomach cramps, a few drops of cumin oil can be added to a warm, moist cloth and placed above or below the navel. Pregnant and breastfeeding women, as well as individuals with liver disease, should avoid using cumin oil.
